Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a team of healthcare staff, ensuring the highest standard of care for residents.
  • Oversee daily operations, including staff recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that foster independence and personal growth, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations through regular audits and proactive management.
  • Collaborate closely with families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders to support a safe and inclusive environment for residents.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Disability Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: At least 3 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism, ideally within a residential or respite care setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of disability services regulations and best practices in healthcare.
  • Ability to make sound, effective decisions under pressure in challenging situations.

Desirable:

  • Specific experience working with children.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Disability Studies, Management, or a related area.
  • Experience in supervising and training healthcare staff.
  • Familiarity with techniques and interventions for supporting individuals with complex needs.
