About Us
Ashwood Healthcare Services Limited operates under a social support model, tailoring its assistance to the unique requirements of referred service users from the HSE and TUSLA.
We offer respite and emergency respite care to children with minimal to mild support needs, which may include autism. Residents must possess the physical capabilities to navigate all areas of the property to fulfil their physical requirements.
Aims
The principal aim is to offer residents and their families respite support to enable them to remain residing in their family home for as long as possible. While at the same time providing families / care givers with a break from full-time caring.
We aim to provide personal care and support in ways which provide positive outcomes and promote active participation in the community. Residents will be listened to at all times and have their thoughts, opinions, and attitudes respected and considered.
Our aim is to provide a flexible service built around personal goals and wishes of our service users and to provide support so they may be as physically and mentally healthy as possible, to feel safe and valued, and to enhance practical life skills in everyday activities.
We aim to employ a quality workforce whose education, training, attitude and experience make them suitable for their role and who will provide care in a friendly, appropriate and respectful manner.

- Personal Care
Ashwood Healthcare aims to give residents opportunities to participate in all aspects of life in the service. In particular, they will be regularly consulted both individually and corporately about the way the service is run. Our objective is always to make the process of managing and running the service as transparent as possible, and to ensure the service has an open and positive inclusive atmosphere. Regular meetings will be held and input sought on matters relating to the running of the house. Regular satisfaction surveys will be carried out by the quality manager.
Facilities
Meadow Lane consists of two semi-detached, 3-bedroom houses, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac with easy access to local amenities.
Low to medium support will be provided 24/7 for up to six residents at a time. Each resident will have their own bedroom, a communal bathroom with a bath / shower, and 2 residents will have their own en-suite. All residents will have space for their personal belongings and private living needs, consistent with that found in a regular home environment. It is the objective of Ashwood to create a home away from home with a homely environment.
3 bedrooms are located upstairs in each home, the residents will have full access to the sitting room area, kitchen and dining room. They will also have access to a spacious enclosed back garden and patio.
Meadow Lane has a locked cabinet for the safe storage of medication and relevant files. Residents may avail from Wi-fi provided along with the use of a TV and tablets.

Objectives
- To offer respite care and emergency respite care to children with minimal to mild support needs and those possessing the physical capabilities to navigate all the areas of the property to fulfil their physical needs.
- To prevent unnecessary admission to hospital.
- To enable and empower our residents to maximise their potential.
- To enable residents to determine their goals leading to achievement of desired outcomes.
- To enable our residents to be active citizens within their local community.
- To draw up an individualised assessment and care plans which enable residents to optimize their independence and desired outcomes based on assessed needs.
- To consult with the residents, their families / care givers, relevant professionals, and staff when formulating and agreeing the Care Plan.
- To review assessments and care plans on a regular basis while liaising with the service users.
Admission Criteria
- Age range of residents to be accommodated: 4-16
- Gender of residents to be accommodated: Male and Female
- The resident will be a child at the time of admission (aged between 4 and 16)
- The resident should meet the criteria laid down by HSE Disability services and/or TUSLA
- The resident will be a resident of CH02 and/or CH08 and referred by Disability services and/or TUSLA
- The resident should meet the criteria set out by Ashwood Healthcare Services Ltd’s admission & discharge policy.
- The resident must possess the physical capabilities to navigate the premises to fulfil physical requirements.
- The resident and/or the family members, where appropriate will have the opportunity to visit the house and learn about the services, prior to admission.
- The resident and/or their family will have the opportunity to review and discuss the contract of service.
- In the event of an emergency admission, the resident must meet the criteria set out in Emergency Admission Policy.
